ASYMBAL
ASYMBAL is an ongoing non-profit community art project servicing local community groups and centres, and collaborating with emerging artists to make engaging artworks. Through workshops, activities, and conversations with a variety of community groups, this project celebrates a fusion of cultural identities and builds bridges between separate and bifurcated community centres. ASYMBAL creates opportunities to learn the processes of art making, culminating in exhibitions, talks, programmed events, and performances.
ASYMBAL was created in 2019 by Marcus Foster and William Redgrove and has been Arts Council funded, partnering with several incredible community centres in the boroughs of Wandsworth and Tower Hamlets in London. This project has also created engaging workshops with major art institutions including the V&A. ASYMBAL has collaborated with some truly exceptional artists, choreographers, and directors such as Darcy Wallace, Leah Capaldi, Marianne Thoermer, Gal Leshem, Dan Knight, Agostina Gálvez, George Turner, Fred Allsop, Phoebe Davis, Jack Catling, and beyond.
